Case Loves…The Knomo iPad Cover
Whether you have the Apple iPad 2, or you have just got your hands on a shiny New iPad (also known as iPad 3!), you might want to consider one of our best-selling iPad covers, from Knomo.
The iPad 3 (New iPad) moulded folio case from Knomo is made from soft nappa leather and tough moulded plastic. Designed to accommodate Apple’s iPad 3, the case offers easy access to all the important buttons and sockets including the headphone jack, speaker, 30 pin USB point etc. The cover is supplied with the unique Knomo tracker tag to help reunite you with your cover, if lost. With added full iPad protection compared to the Apple Smart cover, the iPad 3 Moulded Folio Case does in fact fold-closed in the same way, with the magnetic closure sending your iPad ‘to sleep’ when closed, and ‘waking it up’ when open. When in use, the folio case can be folded back to allow you to prop your iPad 3 upright for working or playing. The iPad 3 Moulded-Folio Case is a must-have for all iPad fans.
Coming later this month, is the Knomo iPad cover for the new iPad in Teaberry colour. Please contact us to pre-order this piece.
If you have an iPad 2, why not have a look at the Knomo iPad 2 portfolio cover:
Customer Queries
Over the past few weeks, we have had some queries from our customers with regards to certain products, brands or ranges. We would like to address some of them here, in case other people have the same questions.
I see that you have a Mulberry section on your website, but I can’t actually buy from it. How do I buy Mulberry from caseluggage?
Unfortunately, we are unable to sell Mulberry online. However, you can visit our stores in Bluewater, Guildford & Leeds to see our Mulberry ranges. We are excited about some new Mulberry pieces, the Bryn satchel which is the perfect day bag in a smaller size and the larger, carry-all. And also, the Mulberry Del-Ray bag. They are both coming to a Case Luggage store near you, very soon!
If I buy an item online, can I return to a store for a refund?
If you buy an item from caseluggage.com, at the moment, we are unable to offer exchanges or refunds in store. However, we do offer free delivery & returns, so if you are unhappy with your purchase, simply contact us, and we will arrange to collect it from you, and issue a refund.
I am looking for a piece of Tumi luggage that you don’t have on your site, can you get it for me?
We would be happy to try and help you find a piece of Tumi that we don’t have on our website. Please contact us with the details of the piece that you are looking for, and we will try to source it for you. We often have products in store, that are not available online, so please call us if you cant find the perfect item online. The Budget 2012
All the talk today surrounds the Chancellor, and the Budget for 2012. At caseluggage.com we are more concerned about that red briefcase the Chancellor is carrying around. The original briefcase was made for William Gladstone in the 1860s, but Gordon Brown ordered a new one in 1997.
Did you know?? In 1868, Chancellor George Ward-Hunt faced a problem when it came to the case that contained the budget. He discovered on opening his briefcase in Parliament, that he had left his speech at home in Number 11 Downing Street.
James Callaghan, the chancellor from 1964-67, rejected the red box as being too small and he therefore had a new larger box made in brown leather. If George Osbourne were to decide that he wants to change the case for a new design or colour, we have some suggestions for him:
The Bridge Business Attache Case
This great looking attache case is made by The Bridge from the finest leather. There are organisational pockets in the lid for documents, mobile, pens etc. Therefore, the Chancellor could keep everything neat & tidy inside.
Tumi Business Tennyson Attache
The Tumi Townhouse Tennyson Attache Case features a combination lock so the Chancellor could prevent people from taking a peak at his work before he presents it to the country in Parliament. It also has a top carry handle, and leather corners and trim. The interior is fully lined and features a divider and organizer panels.
Quindici Attached Pilot Case on Wheels
Perhaps this Quindici Pilot Case on Wheels would be more appropriate for the Chancellor? It would allow him to wheel the Budget around in style, without having to pick it up and carry it.
Knomo Business Kilkenny Cross Body 10" Messenger
The Chancellor could move away from the traditional case, and opt for a Knomo messenger bag instead. The Knomo Kilkenny is one of the most comfortable man-bags around. It has plenty of space inside for the Budget, and also the Chancellor’s iPad or laptop.
If the Chancellor chooses a Tumi piece, perhaps he will stop and visit the newly refurbished concession in Selfridges, Oxford Street, in the luggage department.
Carry On Luggage Meets Airport Transport – Guest Author Kate Hart
Luggage comes in all sizes, colours and patterns these days but generally luggage brands stick to the traditional purpose of luggage – to carry your personal items whilst on the move. One would expect a good set of luggage to be lightweight, secure and easy to manoeuvre, whilst remaining stylish and tasteful.
But what happens when luggage gets a little too travel clever?
Innovative inventor company Hammacher Schlemmer has invented The Only Scootercase. This alternative hand luggage converts into a scooter so you can transport yourself and your luggage through the airport and beyond in super quick time. Here at Case Luggage HQ we’re wondering if travel insurance companies would payout upon an airport scooter related crash…we doubt it!
Maybe luggage like this is best kept for the kids; or the kid inside us all. We’re uncertain if this new luggage innovation is likely to catch on with busy business travellers or holiday makers impatient to hit the hotel bar, but we can’t deny we do love some luggage fun. If you have seen any other great ideas, please get in touch!
If you’re not keen on ‘propelling’ yourself through the airport then why not opt for a piece of stylish Samsonite carry on luggage, Bric’s carry on luggage or Knomo hand luggage all with free UK delivery.
The Perfect Size to take on a Ryanair Flight
It’s the set of dimensions that everybody hates, 55cm x 40cm x 20cm. Yes, that’s right, the size that you are permitted to take as a carry-on bag on a Ryanair flight (For a full list of dimensions permitted on other airlines, please see our travel desk). Now that you have booked, you realise you need a new bag or suitcase to take on board with you, because you have to put everything, including the kitchen sink inside. Your handbag, briefcase, laptop, shop purchases, camera etc must all be carried in your one permitted piece of cabin baggage. We realise how difficult it can be to put all of that in just one bag, so we have put together some our favourite cases & bags that are within the Ryanair size limits. We have some fantastic carry on luggage options from Tumi, Samsonite, Bric’s etc.
If you would like to see the full range of luggage that is suitable for a Ryanair, visit our dedicated Ryanair Luggage page.

Steve Jobs Effect On Bags & Accessories
Yesterday morning we woke up to the very sad news about Steve Jobs – many would have first seen the news on their IPAD or iphone. He was a true visionary whose product introductions and brand seemed to effect so many walks of life, and so many facets of business. Bags and accessories were not immune, and nowadays when we see new collections or business bags, or day bags the first question is ‘does it fit an IPAD’ or on older product – ‘are you adding in an IPAD pocket?’.
It was only with the introduction of the IPOD and subsequent generational changes that brands and manufacturers had to wake up to a new timescale of developing cases and sleeves for the newest products available. An IPOD would come out, brands would eventually get a case out to fit, they would sell huge numbers, order loads more – at which point the IPOD would change, everyone would move to the new model and we would all be left with excess old generation covers that were simply useless (if anyone wants an old IPOD Gen 2 case from Tumi I think we still have some!). Then came nanos and shuffles and then IPHONE …
Would customers want sleeves or covers or both – and just with IPOD we all spent time catching up from one generation to another as the Apple bandwagon rolled on. Even this week, manufacturers are probably sighing slight relief at the fact that this month’s new IPHONE is not a total change in shape and design to IPHONE 4 covers which are still just getting to market.
TUMI’S IPHONE 4 SNAP COVER JUST RELEASED … WITH MORE TO COME IN ALUMINIUM AND RED …
The IPAD however has brought about the biggest impact on bags and accessories – as every bag now needs to consider where the customer will want to house their IPAD – with a cover , or without a cover. From now on in, every business case, backpack, or messenger bag will have a pocket to house an IPAD (or other tablet, but in reality – an IPAD). Our list of IPAD compatible bags is growing and will grow by the day – until eventually, as all bags now have space for laptops, they will have a pocket for IPAD.
Most brands we deal with are just about getting new IPAD 2 covers to market – Tumi, Knomo online – Burberry, Mulberry in our stores. Last year , Christmas gifts were all about IPAD covers and sleeves – this year will be about IPAD 2 covers, sleeves, bags and more. A year ago we bought in a £495 cover for IPAD from Valextra for our Harrods concession – it had one article in a Harrods magazine, after which we were never able to get it out on the shelves – we sold out in pre orders – nothing we had ever experienced before in the accessory industry.

So, thanks to Steve Jobs for keeping us all on our toes, creating new categories in the businesses we work in, and simply changing the way we communicate, work, read, inform, and essentially live our lives. We all impact the world in some way, but there are very few who impact so globally. RIP.
Tweet it to win it!
Last week we set our sights on 1000 followers on Twitter, and by the middle of the week we had achieved our goal. This week we thought we would aim high, again. We want to hit 2000 followers, and in celebration of this, one of our followers will win a £350 voucher to spend at Case Luggage. That would put a smile on your face wouldn’t it?
