Tinie’s Luggage Tempah!

Tinie Tempah

British rap superstar Tinie Tempah was left fuming after he arrived stateside without his belongings ahead of a concert in Boston, Massachusetts. Airline staff seem to have lost the Brit Winner’s luggage en route from London after he took a short break from his U.S tour.

In fact, Mr Tempah dashed back to London in order to  attend the prestigious Ivor Novello Awards on Thursday, where he took the award for Best Contemporary Song, for his hit single Pass Out.

He was back on a British Airways flight straight after the event, but found himself with no bags when he touched down in Boston for his gig on the Friday.

Tinie’s Tempah was clearly evident on Twitter where he posted, "Argh my flipping bags… Again… I hate Flying with BA!!!!!"

Perhaps BA/Tinie should have purchased a Nio Security Tag so that nothing ever gets lost!

Who’s Won What…Results from the caseluggage.com Awards

The contest is now over for the caseluggage.com  awards, it was a hardly fought contest, and after two nerve-racking, grueling weeks of voting, the results are in! It would be cruel to all the brands nominated to further lengthen the process, so just below are the results! Congratulations to all the winners, and commiserations to all those who are not taking home a caseluggage.com award, there is always next year!

Best New Range Launch:

1) Alpha Bravo by TUMI  (36%)Tumi Alpha Bravo 22611 MCNAIR SLIM BRIEF2) Vapor by TUMI  (32%)

3) Salsa Air by RIMOWA  (23%)

This was a closely fought contest between three great ranges, that attracted the greatest number of votes. At the start of the voting process it seemed as if the Vapor range was the obvious winner, but after some late voting the Alpha Bravo stole the top spot just before the count!

Best New Colour in a Range:

1) City – Vapor Produced by TUMI  (35%)Tumi Vapor 28029 EXTENDED TRIP PACKING CASE

2) Violet – Cosmolite Produced by SAMSONITE  (30%)

3) Gold – Cosmolite Produced by SAMSONITE  (20%)

Samsonite did extremely well in this category, giving merit to the wonderful Cosmolite range, but were just short on taking the Gold prize. Again, it was a close contest with the Violet Cosmolite looking certain to win but it seems that the same TUMI flurry in the last category struck again with the City print robbing Samsonite of the victory.

Best Leading Design Piece:

 1) TUMI – Knox Backpack  (35%)

Tumi Alpha Bravo 22681 KNOX BACK PACK

2) BRICS – Thermoform Trolleys  (29%)

3) RIMOWA – Salsa Air Cabin Case  (24%)

Again, and possibly this was a theme of the caseluggage.com awards, TUMI won another award. However, out of all the categories this was the most closely fought, resulting in a situation where there were just two votes between 1st and 3rd. All three were deserving winners, however, as is the nature of competition there must always be winners and losers. Congratulation again to TUMI!

Best New Business Collection:

1) Wheeled Briefcases by TUMI  (72%)

Tumi Arrive 25603 LAGUARGIA WHEELED BRIEF

2) Bayswater by KNOMO  (17%)

3) Touraine by LE TANNEUR  (11%)

This was a walkover by TUMI, with their competitors not even coming close. Both Knomo and Le Tanneur will be disappointed with their performances however, at times one must simply recognize the great work done by TUMI in their business collection and just admire it.

Best Supporting Accessory:

1) NIO Security Tag by NIO  (38%)Nio Tech NB4 NIO 2 BLUETOOTH SECURITY TAG

2) iPad Cover by KNOMO  (24%)

3) Riley Wash Kit by TUMI  (19%)

TUMI only just missed out and would have taken all 5 awards if it weren’t for the genius design and originality of the NIO Security Tag. The NIO took an early lead in the voting and then never looked back, comfortably winning by 14%. We at CASE are very excited about this product and think it has a very bright future, well done NIO!

————————————————————————————————————————

And thus, there comes the end to the 2011 caseluggage.com Awards. A big congratulations to all those who took home awards and better luck next year to those who just missed out. Thanks must also be paid to all those who voted in the awards, we all hope your favourites won! However, sadly, with good news always comes bad and today Hollywood lost one of it’s most famous stars with the sad passing of on and off screen legend Elizabeth Taylor, who died after a long battle against illness. She will always be remembered for her double Oscar winning perfomances and her parts in such films as Cleopatra with ex husband Richard Burton.

Nio – Don’t lose your smartphone or briefcase again ..

NIO™ NOW AVAILABLE AT CASELUGGAGE.COM AND AT HARRODS

The problem of losing smartphones, briefcases, and other devices carrying essential data becomes more prevalent as technology advances and we carry our lives around on a plethora of small devices. For both our travelling and business customers, we are always on the look out for devices that can help with this daily problem. We think we have found the answer!

Like its predecessor, nio™ 2.0 prevents the loss or theft of valuable items by wirelessly chaining them to your Smartphone. Driven by airport security friendly Bluetooth technology, the keychain-size tag can be attached to almost any item you don’t want to lose; whether it’s your suitcase, a laptop bag, keys or even young children. Both the security tag and your Smartphone will alarm if the wireless chain between the phone and nio™ tag is broken, so nothing gets left behind or lost in a crowd.

We have been continually watching Nio’s development with interest as we feel this is a great device for work, travel and day to day life. We are delighted that we are now able to offer this online and at Harrods. We look forward to continual development of this technology as we feel there are many more potential benefits to be explored, especially for the travelling community.

“A fifth of travellers lose something valuable whilst on holiday, and on average over 15,000 laptops are lost by business travellers in airports in the US and Europe every week,” said Ben Hounsell CEO of TenBu Technologies. “The strategic partnership with Case Luggage provides a major retail outlet for customers to effectively protect important items whilst on holiday, or travelling”.

Using TenBu’s award winning technology, multiple nio security tags, each with their own alarm, schedule, and icon can be connected to the same Smartphone to ensure all of your belongings are protected.

Let us know if you have used the device and how it worked for you.

Hilary’s Swanky outfit change after loss of luggage!

Oscar Winner Hilary Swank was forced to attend a Super Bowl Fundraising Event wearing an airport bought tee-shirt, after losing her luggage in transit!

The Million Dollar Baby Actress didn’t exactly look a million dollars in her airport gift shop shirt, however, this minor hick up was not to set her back as it seems Hilary gained inspiration from her tee-shirt (which read “Don’t Mess with Texas”) and still did her part presenting at the Charity Auction.

If only Miss Swank had been using a piece of TUMI luggage with its fantastic TUMI Tracer technology, as through a simple phone call to TUMI she would have soon found out where her bags had been misplaced. However, if Hilary was being really savvy she would have snapped up one of the new Nio Tech Security Tags found at Case Luggage!

The Nio Tech Security Tag is a new revolutionary device that ensures that you will no longer be subject to the theft or loss of your possessions. Through a wireless chain, your Smartphone is connected to the Nio device, which can be attached to any item you desire. If the item is then separated from you and your Smartphone, the chain is broken and an alarm will set off on both devices, ensuring that you will definitely know if something has gone missing, before it is too late.

The possibilities for the Nio are endless as you can attach it to pretty much anything, be it a piece of luggage, a handbag or even your child in a busy shopping centre! Be sure to get your Nio Tag at Case Luggage before we are all sold out, as after Hilary’s recent incident we are sure she and the rest of Hollywood won’t be seen without one!
