Travel Washbags From Premium Leather To Everyday Waterproof Fabric

A washbag might be the smallest thing in your suitcase, but it's also the one you reach for first in an unfamiliar hotel bathroom at midnight. This collection brings together travel washbags across a genuinely wide range, from Milanese hand-stitched leather to bright, waterproof-lined fabric, so the choice comes down to how you want to travel rather than what's simply available.

Serapian: Leather Craftsmanship For The Detail-Focused Traveller

Serapian washbags bring genuine Milanese leather craft into your wash kit, with full-grain leather, waterproof lining, and the brand's precise hand-stitching throughout. The Stepan Sustainable and Evolution washbags in this collection are built to the same standard as Serapian's briefcases, which tells you roughly how seriously the brand takes something as small as a toiletry bag, and they hold their finish well over years of regular use rather than showing wear after a handful of trips.

Tumi And Victorinox: Built For Frequent Use

The Tumi Response Travel Kit from the Alpha Bravo range takes a more technical approach, water resistant and backed by a five year warranty, built for travellers who are packing and unpacking a washbag weekly rather than twice a year. Victorinox's Hanging Toiletry Case takes a similar practical stance, designed to hang in a hotel bathroom rather than sit on the side, which matters more than it sounds when bathroom counter space is at a premium or the sink surround is already covered in someone else's toiletries.

Bric's: The Widest Range In This Collection

Bric's covers more ground here than any other brand, with washkits across the Life, Pelle, and Firenze collections. The Life washkit uses the brand's signature fabric construction, the Pelle version moves into leather, and the Firenze washkit sits somewhere between the two in style. If you already own a suitcase or duffle from one of these Bric's ranges, matching the washbag to it is an easy way to keep your set looking coordinated rather than thrown together, and it's one of the more common requests the team gets from customers who've already bought a Bric's case.

Joules: Personality Over Restraint

Joules takes the opposite approach entirely, with His & Hers travel washbags in the brand's signature botanical prints, alongside the smaller Epwell washbag. These aren't trying to be understated, and if your current washbag is a plain black rectangle, this is the easiest way to change that without buying an entirely new luggage set. They're also a genuinely practical size for a long weekend rather than purely decorative.

It's also worth thinking about how a washbag travels when it's not in use, not just when it's packed. Structured leather options like Serapian's hold their shape well in a half-empty suitcase, while softer fabric washbags from Bric's and Joules tend to squash down flatter, which can be useful if you're trying to save space on the way home with a fuller case than you left with.

Size is worth checking carefully too, since a washbag that's perfect for a long weekend can feel cramped on a two-week trip, and one built for a fortnight away can look oversized packed for an overnight stay. The Bric's range spans several sizes across its Life, Pelle, and Firenze lines specifically to cover that gap.

Whichever brand you land on, a washbag is worth buying for how you actually travel rather than how you'd like to travel. A leather washbag that needs careful handling isn't the right choice for a backpacking trip, just as a purely decorative fabric bag isn't going to hold up to years of weekly business travel.

If you're unsure, it's worth thinking about your most frequent type of trip rather than the trip you take once a year. A washbag chosen around weekly business travel will serve you well on the occasional holiday too, but the reverse isn't always true.

A slightly larger, more durable washbag bought for business travel will still work perfectly well tucked into a holiday case, whereas a delicate holiday-only washbag rarely survives weekly airport handling for long.

Choosing Between Them

A few questions worth asking yourself before you pick one:

1. How often do you travel? Frequent flyers get more value from a warrantied option like the Tumi or Victorinox kits.
2. Do you want it to match existing luggage? Bric's is the strongest option here if you already own a case or duffle from one of its ranges.
3. Leather or fabric? Leather ages well and looks sharper for longer, fabric is generally lighter and easier to wipe clean.
4. Statement or subtle? Joules leans bright and patterned, Serapian and Bric's Pelle lean quiet and considered.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are any of these washbags waterproof?

Most of the fabric options here, including the Bric's and Joules ranges, use waterproof-lined interiors to contain any spills from toiletries. Leather options like Serapian rely on a treated leather exterior and lined interior rather than being fully waterproof throughout.

Which washbag is best for frequent travel?

The Tumi Response Travel Kit and Victorinox Hanging Toiletry Case are both built with frequent use in mind, backed by multi-year warranties in Tumi's case.

Can I buy a washbag to match my existing suitcase?

If your case is from Bric's, yes, the Life, Pelle, and Firenze washkits are designed to sit alongside the matching luggage ranges.
