Tumi Travel Accessories: Completing The Travel System

Tumi's travel accessories collection completes the brand's broader travel system, packing cubes, garment sleeves, security locks, and travel wallets built from the same premium materials and attention to detail as Tumi's suitcases and bags themselves.

Packing Cubes: Small, Medium, And Large

The Packing Cube range spans Small, Medium, and Large sizes, each built to organise clothing and belongings inside a suitcase rather than relying on loose packing. Colour-coding cubes by size or contents is a genuinely practical system frequent travellers use to find specific items without unpacking an entire case at airport security or a hotel room, and the cubes are built specifically to Tumi's own interior dimensions for the most efficient fit inside the brand's suitcases. That precise fit matters more than it might seem, since a slightly oversized cube can prevent a suitcase from closing properly once fully packed, undermining the entire point of using cubes in the first place.

Security And Protection: TSA Locks And Laptop Covers

The TSA Lock Box Set of 3 provides approved combination locks that allow security agents to inspect luggage without damaging the lock, essential for any checked case travelling through US airports specifically. The Large Laptop Cover from the Alpha 3 range and the Laptop Sleeve from the Belden range both add dedicated protection for a laptop travelling inside a larger bag, rather than relying on a bag's general padding alone, with the Laptop Cover designed to slot inside an existing Tumi compartment and the Belden Sleeve working as a more standalone protective case for any bag. Both options are worth considering together if you own more than one bag and want consistent laptop protection regardless of which one you're carrying on a given day. Building a small kit of these accessories once, rather than buying them piecemeal as needed, tends to work out both cheaper and more convenient over time. Assembling that kit ahead of a first major trip, rather than scrambling to buy pieces individually before each departure, saves both money and last-minute stress. A one-time investment in a complete kit tends to work out cheaper than repeatedly buying individual items under time pressure before each new trip.

Garment Carriers And Practical Additions

Beyond the accessories in this specific collection, Tumi's dedicated garment bags represent the definitive suit carrier for business travel, keeping formal clothing genuinely crease-free across a journey in a way folding into a standard suitcase can't match. The Scales from the Technical range let you check luggage weight before arriving at the airport, avoiding an unexpected excess baggage charge at check-in, while the Cover For Short Trip Packing Case, built for the 19 Degree Aluminium range specifically, adds an extra layer of protection to that suitcase's exterior finish during transit. The Fabric Cleaner And Refresher rounds out the collection with straightforward maintenance for fabric bags and accessories between trips. Regular use of the Fabric Cleaner And Refresher between trips helps softside luggage and bags maintain their appearance over years of use, rather than allowing dirt and marks to set in permanently.

Building A Complete Tumi Travel Kit

A few pairings worth considering:

1. Packing cubes plus a TSA lock for anyone checking a case regularly, particularly to the US, where TSA-approved locks are effectively essential. Travelling without a TSA-approved lock to the US risks a security agent cutting a non-compliant lock to inspect the case, so this is one accessory worth genuinely prioritising rather than treating as optional. It's a genuinely low-cost way to avoid a real risk, since a cut lock at best means an unsecured case for the rest of a trip, and at worst damage to the zip or case itself. That risk is specific to travel through the US, so it's worth checking your destination's requirements before assuming a standard padlock will suffice.
2. A laptop sleeve plus scales for business travellers who want device protection and to avoid excess baggage fees in one kit.
3. A garment bag alongside packing cubes for a business trip requiring both formal wear and everyday clothing organisation.
4. Fabric cleaner as ongoing maintenance for anyone who's invested in Tumi's softside luggage or bags specifically and wants them to last. Building this habit early, rather than waiting until a bag already shows visible wear, is the more effective way to preserve its condition over the long term.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Tumi's TSA locks suitable for all checked luggage?

Yes, the TSA Lock Box Set of 3 works with any compatible zip or strap closure, not just Tumi's own luggage, though sizing should be checked against your specific case beforehand.

What's the difference between the Large Laptop Cover and the Laptop Sleeve?

The Large Laptop Cover from Alpha 3 is designed to slot inside a Tumi bag's existing compartment, while the Belden Laptop Sleeve is a more standalone protective case that can be carried inside any bag you already own.

Does Tumi sell a garment bag as part of this collection?

Garment bags are covered in our dedicated suit & garment bags collection rather than this specific accessories page, though both are worth browsing together for a complete business travel kit.
